Steve and Susie Mace have been in the restaurant business just about their entire adult lives and over the past 30 years or so, they've learned a lot about good food and the good life.
When the couple bought Good Life in 2003 they kept what was best about the Outer Banks icon-the affordable prices, the relaxed atmosphere, the warm welcoming feeling and the original recipes from first owner Chef Sam McGann, now executive chef and part owner of the Blue Point in Duck.
They moved to their Kitty Hawk location at MP 4.5 on the Bypass in 2006. With more space they have been able to do more. There is a little more room for their specialty retail items including an expanded beer and wine selection; they were able to offer more fresh baked product in their bakery case; the larger kitchen allowed them to offer more services to their catering customers; and the bistro setting of the bar area has created one of the favorite spots for a bite to eat or a cappuccino and croissant on the Outer Banks.
It's all part of the original vision the couple had when they moved to the Outer Banks-good food, served in a pleasant surrounding at reasonable prices are part of the Good Life.
